Introduction
The Lake District Coast Aquarium is well established as a great all weather attraction for all age groups, with just the right balance of fun with learning! The stunning marine and freshwater displays remain the main attraction, with the all day tickets, fish feeding demonstrations, the ray and touch pools proving the highlights for many.
Our harbourside café thrives in its own right, offering a very comprehensive menu. Tempting meals now include authentic Thai dishes as well as established seafood favourites, homemade soups and cakes. This can all be enjoyed whilst observing Maryport's working harbour and on clear days stunning views across the Solway Firth to Scotland.
The gift shop has something of interest for everybody. Tasteful presents for friends, souvenirs or simply something affordable for the kids to take home. The Wild Solway Centre, a new addition to the aquarium, is a state of the art audio visual theatre and exhibition area which presents highly informative displays and films for visitors on themes relating to the marine environment. The aquarium is less than 10 minutes walk from Maryport station
From the railway station, cross the road and walk over the bridge down Station Street.
Turn right down Curzen Street. Take your next left onto Senhouse Street and over the hill past
the William Hill betting shop and the White Star Line Pub. Go down the hill and the aquarium is on the dock to the right after the bridge.
