Visitors travelling through Blackpool North station on Saturday morning were treated by Northern Rail in order to help raise awareness with the local community about the important work undertaken by Northern, its Station Adopters and Community Rail Partnerships.
Results of these successful partnerships are clear to see at the station, with care being taken to keep passengers updated with detailed information boards alongside healthy flower displays.
Famous steam locomotive, The Duchess of Sutherland made a guest appearance, pulling in just before midday. There were also model railway displays, heritage bus trips to the glittering Golden Mile promenade and an opportunity to speak with Northern Rail representatives.
Wayne Smith, Station Manager for Northern Rail comments: “Community days like this at Blackpool North are a great way for the area team to give something back and help us keep the community involved in making the most of their local station. We were thrilled to have everyone's support on Saturday and hope our passengers will continue to appreciate Blackpool North.”
