STATION SIGNS SALE TO RAISE MONEY FOR CHARITY

Railway enthusiasts are in for a treat as a selection of railway station signs from across the north of England goes on sale to raise money for charity.
Northern Rail is selling over 150 redundant station signs from stations across its network in aid of the Cumbrian Flood Recovery Appeal.
With signs from Acklington in Northumberland to Alderley Edge in Cheshire, from Maryport in Cumbria to Worksop in Nottinghamshire, the sale is expected to spark interest in railway enthusiasts and collectors, as well as in people from across the Northern network who would like to own a piece of station memorabilia from their home town.
The sale will take place at Harrogate Station from 12:00 until 15:00 on Saturday 30 January and everyone is welcome.
Signs will range in price between £15 and £30 depending on size and condition and will be sold as seen.
Jo North, Northern Rail’s Commercial Director, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to own a piece of railway history with the added bonus of supporting the Cumbrian Flood Recovery Appeal in the process.”
