Roll into Filey’s Grade II listed train station and take the short ten minute stroll to its celebrated seafront.

With miles of sweeping beach to explore, Filey is the perfect place to roll up your trousers, build sandcastles, slurp on an ice cream, bravely dip in the sea and, if you’re lucky, a spell of seal spotting.

Enjoy a walk along Filey’s promenade with its fascinating coastal-themed sculpture trail. Alternatively, take on a family adventure to conquer the rock peninsula of Filey Brigg, home to budding fossil hunters and rock-pools with muscles, crabs, shrimps and even starfish lurking amongst the seaweed. If there is still energy to spare (for the parents that is) visit the Bird Garden and Animal Park.

A day at the seaside would not be complete without indulging in a good local chippy such as The Brown Room. Finish your day at the bandstand in Crescent Gardens to listen to a brass band and take in the view across the bay at sunset.
